Taking the leap

Taking the leap

In one week, we’ll be handed the keys to our new home.

In one week, we’ll become residents of a new city.

In one week, someone new will move into this house.

Change is coming, again.  I look around at my house, my office, the boxes, the emails and realize I will never feel quite ready for the move.  But the change is welcome, and I’m ready for it.  I’ve been ready for a long time.

Moving can bring anxiety and stress, but I am one of those people who craves the upheaval from time to time. The funny thing about upheaval is that renewal is never far behind.  I wrote that sentence down last time we moved, and it’s still true.

I want the challenge of a new city, the wonder of new skies, and the thrill of discovery found only by making oneself uncomfortable.

And so, I’ll share with you something that makes me smile when I think of the challenge ahead.  It reminds me that we don’t get a chance to fly unless we jump off a cliff or two.

Any cliffs you’ve been eyeing?  Almost ready to jump?

It’s your turn.

Tell me what change has been tempting you lately.

Are you ready to leap?

How exciting! I love that quote too. It’s that confidence to figure you will get what you need when you need it on a new adventure. I hope it all goes really well for everyone and that your new home is everything you hope.

we moved 2.5 years ago and I’m still recovering! The thought of a new place is not as horrifying as the thought of packing up all these people and their stuff! :) xoxo

    I love that quote.

I’ve got some ideas up my sleeve – just need the kids to be back to school first. ;)

Funny that you speak of moving…we are searching for possibilities. As to change, I feel I’m standing on the edge of sonething so good the anticipation is making me squirmy.

Oh, I LOVE that and know exactly what you mean. I am so restless when I know I want change, and then once I decide what I want – I want it right away! Waiting makes me want to jump out of my skin! ; )
